After Attakathi, director Ranjith is back with Madras. A movie that speaks about a young man born and brought up in North Madras. The life and culture of men in that part of Chennai.

Produced by K E Gnanavelraja, Madras is written and directed by Ranjith. The cast comprises Karthi, Catherine Tresa, Rama, Kalaiyarasan, Vinoth, ‘Poster’ Nandakumar, Hari, ‘Mime’ Gopi and Jaya Rao. The film portrays the lives of the people living in north Madras.

Karthi who is desperate for a break after a string of failures has finally managed to render a blockbuster. The aspirations of youngsters in North Madras make up the movie.

Music is by Santosh Narayanan. Ranjith has shot in realistic locations in North Madras to get the movie going.The movie has cinematography by G Murali and editing by Praveen K L.Kali (Karthi) in North Madras is fun-loving youngster.

He comes across Kalaiarasi (Catherine Teresa) and its romance straightaway. Things change in his life and he eventually end up taking a challenge and try overcoming hurdles in style.Karthi has done a fabulous job.

He is cool, casual and bubbly. His emotional outburst is god. Catherine is apt for the role. The rest of characters are adequate. Ranjith extracts best from all and eventually Madras ends up a movie to watch and enjoy.
