Yennai Arindhaal tamil movie review

Gautham Menon and Ajith have come together to render a stylish cop story. Yennai Arindhaal is a movie that is slick, entertaining and racy from the word go.

Gautham has successfully chronicled the life and travails of a man from his teenage till 40s. Ajith's stylish looks, catchy dialogues, twists and turns with Arun Vijay rendering a menacing show, Yennai Arindhaal is here to stay,The movie boasts of Anushka, Trisha, Vivek, Suman, Daniel Balaji among others.

Harris Jeyaraj's good BGM and Don Macarthur's camera capturing the chase and thrills in a plesant manner, Yennai Arindhaal ends up an engrosser.

Sathyadev (Ajith) meets a techie Thenmozhi (Anushka) in a flight. When they meet second time in Chennai, she encounters a group of baddies led by Victor (Arun Vijay) fight with Sathyadev.

A flashback reveals who Sathyadev is and why the goons are behind him. Sathyadev is a prisoner known to Victor. Impressed by his courage, Victor introduces him to his boss and an underworld drug dealer (Stunt Silva). There Sathydev wields his gun kills the boss and arrests Victor for he is a DCP.

Now Victor wants to revenge Sathydev. He bumps off Sathyadev's beau Hemanika (Trisha). Now Sathyadev is takes care of his daughter. Meanwhile, Thenmozhi comes to know that she is chased by Victor and gang for a reason.

The rest is all but a cat and mouse game between Victor and Sathyadev. Ajith is smart, bubbly and stylish. As a man in khaaki, he delivers his best. Gautham has understood what the audience want from Ajith and laced elements acccordingly.

Trisha is beautiful as ever and has an emotion part to play. Anushak as Thenmoizhi has nothing music to do. But Arun Vijay steals the show with a spirited show. His looks are menacing. Harris Jeyaraj's signature tunes doesn't go much with the story except Adharu Udharu.

But he compensates with his background music. Gautham Menon ha managed to make a movie from his stable and magnanimous Ajith has not allowed the mass star in him to dominate the script. Three cheers to the crew for a stylish attempt on Tamil screen.

LINGAA MOVIE REVIEW - Rajinikanth's Movie treat

Superstar Rajinikanth's birthday treat Lingaa, directed by K.S.Ravikumar hits the screens today. The film is expected to surpass the duo's earlier outings - Muthu and Padaiyappa. With a huge ensemble of support stars and Rajini in dual roles, does Lingaa live up to the immense expectations? Let's find out.

Lingaa follows the tried and tested K.S.Ravikumar template with comedy driving the proceedings forward in a pretty enjoyable manner, for the majority of the first half. The younger Rajini is seen as a petty thief who is out to make a quick buck in the company of his sidekicks, played by Santhanam and Karunakaran. After some plot points, the flashback portion begins towards the end of the first half and lifts the movie noticeably.

The senior Rajini as Raja Lingeswaran plays it in his trademark extravagant style with a tinge of arrogance. This role is sure to totally win over his ardent fans. As always, the dialogues bordering on philosophy gain more meaning when Rajini delivers them nonchalantly. Watch out for the train stunt sequence.

KSR is generally known for his impactful flashback sequences, where he presents a gamut of emotions and other human traits. Lingaa's flashback episode also stands out and the element of patriotism works to the film's advantage. The grandeur of the dam and the way the scenes are woven around it, point to the director's experience.

A round of applause for DoP Rathnavelu too, for the way he has captured the scenic landscape and offered a treat to the eyes with the high top angle shots. Senior Rajini's little romance track with Sonakshi Sinha is another highlight and the Bollywood beauty fits the bill perfectly with her native looks, cute expressions and remarks. Chinmayee's dubbing for her makes us invest in her role even more.

Rajini's energy levels and evergreen screen presence are admirable and he is the cynosure of all eyes whenever he is on screen. His costumes and other accessories in both the periods make him dazzle. Make-up could have been slightly better.

Santhanam gets a few lines to showcase his comic timing while Karuna has not much scope. Anushka's role has some bearing on the film's outcome in a few key scenes. Otherwise, she gets the hit Mona Gasolina number along with a romance track with the younger Rajini. We have many many more actors, including a few British ones and experienced Tamil faces, playing out little roles in the overall scheme of things.

Talking about the songs, both the duet songs with the two lead ladies respectively, have been positioned as a mere formality, while Indiane Vaa is the best of the lot thanks to its relevance to the script and the message it conveys. It does seem that the film's tight deadlines took a toll on the background score.

Just when you thought that the film was resolving in a pretty decent manner and when all the knots were being untied competently, comes a shocker of a stunt sequence in the climax where the action happens in a bike and a hot air balloon. The length of the movie is a downer too.

To sum up, Lingaa is a mainstream entertainer with some substance, playing to Rajini's strengths. Low expectations and high patience levels would enable you to enjoy Rajinikanth's screen persona.

Verdict: Rajinikanth's mesmerizing energy let down by writing. But give it your time for Superstar's non-diminishing charisma.

Produced by K E Gnanavelraja, Madras is written and directed by Ranjith. The cast comprises Karthi, Catherine Tresa, Rama, Kalaiyarasan, Vinoth, ‘Poster’ Nandakumar, Hari, ‘Mime’ Gopi and Jaya Rao. The film portrays the lives of the people living in north Madras.

Karthi who is desperate for a break after a string of failures has finally managed to render a blockbuster. The aspirations of youngsters in North Madras make up the movie.

Music is by Santosh Narayanan. Ranjith has shot in realistic locations in North Madras to get the movie going.The movie has cinematography by G Murali and editing by Praveen K L.Kali (Karthi) in North Madras is fun-loving youngster.

He comes across Kalaiarasi (Catherine Teresa) and its romance straightaway. Things change in his life and he eventually end up taking a challenge and try overcoming hurdles in style.Karthi has done a fabulous job.

He is cool, casual and bubbly. His emotional outburst is god. Catherine is apt for the role. The rest of characters are adequate. Ranjith extracts best from all and eventually Madras ends up a movie to watch and enjoy.

Aranmanai Movie Review

Comedy genre has been Sundar C's forte. His movies often had good stories with substantial amount of comedy sequences. Even his last few movies belonged to this genre. Now, the director is combining this skills with thrilling elements to chalk out a horror-comedy movie in the form of Aranmanai. The director is certainly testing waters to know how the audience will react to his new attempt Aranmanai.
After working with most of the current big names in the industry, he has opted for the movie that does not have a big hero in the movie rather it solely banks on a few popular actresses like Hansika Motwani, Lakshmi Rai and Andrea Jeremiah. Aranmanai has UK Senthil Kumar's cinematography and Bharathwaj's music. NB Srikanth is the editor of the movie, which is produced by Dinesh Karthik.
The Tamil movie is getting a big release as it is releasing in 325+ screens in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Read on for the review... The title tells you enough about the movie's settings. Aranmanai is set in a palace. Murali (Vinay Rai) and Madhavi (Andrea) come to a village to sell their ancestral palace. All the members from the family will soon join them as they all have stakes in it. People in the house starts disappearing mysteriously and Madhavi starts experiencing the presence of evil power in the mansion.

Trisha Krishnan and Raai Laxmi, formerly known as Lakshmi Rai, were engaged in needless controversy when their movie Mankatha starring Ajith Kumar had hit the screens in 2011.

They were in war-of-words post the release of the Tamil movie over the superiority of the characters played by them in the flick. Since then, they had avoided each other but now the time has come for them sort of the differences. The Ghilli actress gets the credit for breaking the ice between them. It happened today (September 18) when Trisha Krishnan wished good luck for Raai Laxmi over the release of Aranmanai. On Twitter, she wrote, "@ihansika @iamlakshmirai @khushsundar Gooodluckkk u guys.. lookin goood" It might just be a small sentence but clears shows that the actress does not have hard feelings against Raai Laxmi.

It was all started with Raai Laxmi, who claimed that director Venkat Prabhu had given her the choice to pick the character that she would like to play in Mankatha. She was asked either to accept the role of Ajith's girlfriend or the character named Sona. She opted for the latter as it would be part of two songs. The actor accepted the challenge of living a healthy lifestyle from actress Nargis Fakhri and named it 'BANG BANG Dare'. "Now that's what a call a bangbang dare!!! I take the challenge!! I'm on!! Anyone else care to join? @NargisFakhri," posted Hrithik.

He then carried forward this game and challenged others. "I'm taking this forward - my #bangbangdare to @udaychopra - 100 body weight pull ups (in 5 sets)!! U game ? U have 5 days! Time starts now!!," shared Hrithik.
